She sees herself fifty years from now sitting in the same chair looking into the same crystal ball.Winner: SOL
Reason: I liked her response so much that I'm going to make it into a future cue. I can't imagine 50 years from now seeing that nothing in my life has changed.

ReplyDeleteShe sees herself fifty years from now sitting in the same chair looking into the same crystal ball.
ReplyDeleteShe sees so many things it overwhelems her, because she knows that crytals balls are not orbs of the future, they are mystifying possibilities, and probabilities, no not that evn, they're permutations and combinations of where she could be, who she would succumb to, and what she'd let go off, and the things she's unleash...
ReplyDeleteShe sees princes and dragons of a long ago age coming to the future to save the world from evil beings.
ReplyDeleteShe sees... She sees...
ReplyDeleteShe sees herself firing the maid for leaving fingerprints on her Crystal Ball.
She sees lines of fools who willingly part with their money to hear the future they want to hear with a little jazz hands thrown in for flair.
ReplyDeleteShe sees her mother glowering at her: "Trixie," she says, "I had such big dreams for you. That's why I taught you to transform every negative into a positive. But this is pushing it! Just because that bathroom globe fell on your head doesn't mean that you have to practice, in my wedding dress, as a gypsy fortune teller!"
ReplyDeleteshe sees, she sees...
ReplyDeleteflowing tresses, glittering gems, thick gold rings, and glowing coal black eyes, widening, coming closer and closer...
'oh crap, how do you switch the damn thing on??'
"The magic crystal ball shows me that... tomorrow morning will be cloudy with a 40% chance of showers. But! The afternoon will be clear, with a high of 19 degrees."
ReplyDeleteI see a fire, and can't understand
ReplyDeleteWhy it doesn't warm my outstretched hand.
If a less ugly chair
Would pop outta there,
That, my friends, would be really grand.
